Army Green Spy

Hi dolls... So I had to go out of my comfort zone for a while and try colors other than black, grey, white, army green and burgundy.

Let's just say it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be and I couldn't help but wear black today.

The only mistake was wearing long sleeves and black on one of the hottest days in Naij.

87Origins

Hi dolls.... Happy Sunday :)

87Origins is a fashion and lifestyle brand based in Lagos. If you are into the whole minimal look, this brand would definitely appeal to you.

It's not everyone's cup of tea as I learnt from my snapchat (Jibby_West) followers on Saturday but most people loved the idea of an affordable basic chic line.

There are also pieces for work which can easily be transformed from a day to night look (the stylist in me working).

One thing that got me super excited was the quality of the fabrics, light (perfect for our weather) and super soft to touch.

A R M Y X N U D E

Hi dolls... A picture speaks a thousand words, these speak millions lol. Tired, breaking out, bad hair day, stressed... I could go on and on about all the things that are wrong in each picture but days like this make you appreciate the good days when they come.

I was just recovering when I took these but I love this jumpsuit so much (one of my many finds from Bicester Village). It was almost a steal when I got it many years ago and the color just gives it that extra za za!!!

Feeling blue

Hi dolls... I've been a bit under weather. One of my good friend says this happens every festive period and I'm starting to see her point. It might also be the stress of driving from the Mainland to the Island everyday, traffic and what not!!!

Recently, I've been playing with the idea of getting my own place on the island. Trust African parents, aunties, siblings etc to preach about how a girl should only move out of her parents house when she is getting married. I find that statement hilarious not only because it seems unfair (I lived in London alone for years without any issues) but also because it sounds like they expect you to be dependent on them forever.

An 18 year old abroad can move out of their parents house, start their life, and be independent but in Nigeria, a 35 year old unmarried woman will be looked down on if she leaves her parents house (I'm not 35 lol).  I went to university abroad, passed with flying colors, managed to stay away from drugs, didn't get pregnant, got a good job at some point yet I am getting lectured because I want to be a bit more independent.

Palm Sunday

Hi dolls... Happy Palm Sunday!!! I don't need a reason to dress up most Sundays but today I decided to go virginal with this white dress.

I could not take pictures before leaving for church because it was 6am and the lighting was not the best so decided I would do a few shots after church.

It was so hot in church that most of my make up ran away with the heat due to constant dabbing but I was able to take a not so clear selfie for snap chat (@jibby_west) before heading out.

Rusty Petals

Hi dolls... Hope everyone is having an amazing weekend.

Just wanted to share a few pictures that never made it to the blog.

I've had this dress for a long time, even wore it for my sister's registry years ago (don't know how I did now thinking about it).

This throw/cover up has to be one of my fave clothing piece right now. It's so easy to wear with anything. The color is the perfect shade of rust so it can be worn with most colors.

I can't believe it's not a dress!!!!

Hi dolls... so much has been happening but I've not had time to blog as much as I would love to. I'm so sorry I've been MIA.

If you follow me on snapchat, you would have seen snaps from my recent trips to LA, Dubai... I have been working on a few projects and planning something big that I cannot wait to share!!!

Wore this outfit a few days ago, everyone thought it was a dress but in the spirit of Easter, I just wanted to mix pastel and nudes.

Femme Flare

Hi dolls... You know how somedays you just wake up and you know it's going to be a great day? This was one of those days, I woke up feeling on top of the world and nothing could bring me down.

Lagos traffic had nothing on me, my staff calling in sick did not move me, house hunting going south didn't affect my day. I just felt good knowing God had my back and that was enough for me.

To top it all, I got a message on IG saying I won something (will share soon).

I have this white two piece that I haven't worn for some reason. I decided to pair the top of the set with my vintage midi skirt.

What if...

Hi dolls... I've stopped thinking about all the what if(s) and I've been concentrating on all the things that are important, making sure I get them done along the way.

It is not a new year's resolution, it's more like 'life goals' to live with. I write all the things I need to achieve and work towards getting them.

Taking chances and making changes are the new key words I embrace now because not only is life too short but I do not want to have any regrets.

Stripes X Neon

Hi dolls... I remember the day I purchased this two piece from the Nigerian brand MAJU.

I was super excited to rock it... Unfortunately, I wore it on holiday in Istanbul and couldn't get anyone to take pictures of me in it (trust me I almost cried at one point lol).

To make matters worse, I got a lot of compliments that day, at one point I managed a selfie in the hotel just to show the set.

I wore the pieces separately on different occasions but still no proof so this year I vexed. This beauty could not go to waste like that.

Mix and Match

Hi dolls... I'm throwing this post way back to the first Sunday of 2016 lol. I remember waking up that morning in panic because I had nothing to wear in my mind.

I quickly had a shower, did my make up and started the search of the perfect first Sunday of the year outfit. I had almost given up and was about to throw on a dress when I spotted this top I've had for over seven years but I've never worn.

Like anyone in panic mode, I put the blouse on thinking I could throw on a plain skirt but decided to wear a trad outfit. I took the top off, went to my closet to hunt for a trad outfit when I found the outfit I wore for my sister's wedding.

Minimal: Olive dreams

Hi dolls... Just a quick post to share a basic dress I wore two ways.

The floral halo was super cute but I decided against it because I was not going to the beach, bridal shower or anywhere interesting so I swapped the halo for a contrasting purse.

It's funny how the purse gave the look a completely different vibe. I went from fun and quirky to smart chic in a split second.

What look do you prefer???

Happy New Year

Happy New Year dolls.... Welcome to 2016.

So far this year has been awesome and it's only the beginning. I finally opened the Lekki Boutique on Fola Osibo, I can't wait to finish all the work so I can show final pictures.

Will soon do another Fashion Business Series post so I can share the challenges so far plus the progress also.

I wore this super cute dress for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner a few weeks ago...
