Cyprus - Halloumi with cats!!!

Hi dolls... Finally sharing some pictures from my Cyprus trip and tips on how to get the visa plus places to visit when you are there.

I only had four days, well one day because of the wedding but I decided to make the most out of eat by eating local food, visiting a few places and hanging out with my friends.

If you have a Nigerian passport, to get a visa to Cyprus can be one of the longest process ever but trust me it is well worth it. A UK or EU passport holder has no issue whatsoever. 

First thing you need to know is that there is no Cypriot embassy in Nigeria, there is a Consulate of Cyprus in Apapa for those in Lagos. Click here for the address. 

The application form is definitely one of the easiest to fill and the visa fee is only N5000. When going to the Consulate of Cyprus for collection or pick-up please note that you have to get to leave your house early because the traffic to Apapa is out of this world.

After stressing myself, my friends and the nice woman in the Consulate of Cyprus in Nigeria, Mrs Fashina, I finally got my passport back the morning of my trip. There are no direct flights to Cyprus so I got a ticket to London instead and took Easy jet to Cyprus (Paphos International Airport). 

Larnaca has the bigger airport but the wedding was in Paphos and seeing as I was going to the island on the night of the beach party, I decided to fly to Paphos straight.

Funny story..

So my friend Cherie and I met up with another friend who lives in Cyprus. We all went to have lunch then sight see for a bit and get some embarrassing souvenirs and gifts. 

It was still a bit early so we drove down to Limassol for dinner and ended up in Rumours which is this cool bar / club with amazing music, drinks and food. Cherie and I decided to leave early because we both had flights to catch later that morning so we left in a cab.

On our way back, the first cab had issues so we had to switch cabs along the way. We got into the second cab but somewhere along the way we started smelling gas. We parked at some gas station in a tiny village (can't remember the name of the village). 

So this is me, at 3am in some secluded village, badly needing the loo and the cab driver starts chatting me up. I walked away looking for the Loo only to find out the one in the gas station was locked. Trust the Nigerian blood in me, I found a spot behind the building in less than five seconds I was done.

After what seemed like forever, another cab from the office came to get us.

In conclusion, these pictures don't tell half the story of how amazing Cyprus really is. I had too much fun in just four days and didn't even remember to take pictures (bad tourist).
