Fashion month

First, let me apologise for being MIA (missing in action). I've been busy with presentations, coursework and juggling with my buying and merchandising job. Fashion month is officially over and I miss it already... The runway, the clothes, the shoes, the models, EVERYTHING!!!.
From New York, I was impressed with the Rodarte show (the sisters evoked early American settlers) from high wasted pants to colonial pony skin aprons and cinched waists over A-line skirts. The Marc Jacobs show was a reflection of the designers mood (playful in my opinion) with polyester shirts, shiny rubbery pants, chunky wedged brogues and saucer hats with chin straps. Michael Kors celebrated its 30th anniversary (mainline) in sporty decadence. A-listers like Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anjelica Huston sat up front. Sleek body suits, gorgeous masculine suiting and pant-suits came in an array of tones.
In London, Jonathan Saunders showed a beautiful collection that combined his colour skills with a new demure romance. His show gave minimalism that fabulosity that we have come to love this season. The combination of colours, graphic weave prints, chiffon dresses, baroque prints and fabulous coats made me love the designer more than I do already. At Burberry, Christopher Bailey worked with new shapes and colours. I loved the tangerine coloured coat worn by one of the models *hint for my birthday gift*,everything was contemporary and directional. Bernard Chandran's show was pretty with barbie pinks, reds and greens

The Belle Sauvage show was edgy and a hint of futuristic in some of the designer duo designs. It had that hippy edge that they are known for, bold colours, striking prints, sexy silhouettes and comfortable fabrics. The show really reflected their passion for art and brought that art to life.

To end the shows in London, there was a vodafone London fashion weekend sponsored by Elizabeth Arden, Elle, Toni&Guy, Chambord, LavAzza, TkMaxx, Superdrug, Kiss, Diet coke, Juicy couture, The Mayfair hotel, Cocosa and vodafone.

There were loads of designer deals, champagne, and candy.

The catwalk show was even better. Designers like Bora Aksu and Mark Fast showed some interesting pieces.

After the shows, it was goody bag time and shopping (what I do best).... :D

After shopping we decided to go to convent garden to have dinner and move on to Merah club in wells street.

Perfect way to end our fashion week in London!!!

In Milan, Gucci was in the mood for the seventies, Christopher Kane created another instant waiting list for Versus and Dolce & Gabbana had a playful theme too for both boys and girls!!!

I wish I could have been at the Paris show. Chanel, Chloe, Alexander Mcqueen, Stella McCartney all gave amazing shows, even Christian Dior (as John Galliano was fired) managed to drop a show that will remain in the history books of fashion!!!
