Fake, Real and the Street

Hi dolls... This is an 'advice' post. There is an issue that has been bugging me for a while. I've had this convo a million and one times with friends, family and the 'offenders' just to have different opinions and share mine too :).

I'm sure you are wondering what I'm talking about, it's more of a question really... Why do people accommodate counterfeit contraband??? I'm talking about people who wear fake pieces. Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin, Gucci etc are just a few brands that have been cloned.

The funny thing is that from afar the pieces look so real but upon closer inspection you can tell it's not the real deal. The whole point of splurging on luxury items is the feeling you get when you walk into the store, pay for quality and enjoy the piece. in short, it is an investment!!!

That feeling can still be achieved when you purchase items from high street stores. If you can't afford luxury, buy from the high street instead of buying a fake. The quality is way better and the styles are similar.

Left: Office
Right: Valentino

If you are in love with a particular style, you can get something similar from the high street instead of buying the fake of the brand.

Fake

Original

Original

Fake
High street (Zara)

I guess what I am trying to say is instead of wasting money buying the fake of a product that would probably not last for long, save and buy the original. If you can't afford it yet, buy from boutiques and the high street!!!

Bisous...xxx

Yup!! You've got that right! CanNOT understand people that purchase fake designer items. If you can't afford it yet, just go highStreet! And the highstreet quality is always better than a fake, 99.99% of the time! Great Post babe :)

I can understand people who buy fakes but I don't blame them. They dont know better. If you go online and see that an original micheal kors bag is about 45k and someone is selling you the fake for 20k u wont buy. It's just that lack of knowledge. I blame the people who make the fakes and those who sell it to them. Some of them openly advertise these things and pnceor twice i have had to ask myself is this a fake or real ? I blame the society for embracing ideals that are based on material wealth and it's expression.
If people learn delayed gratification and imbibe a culture of saving money for stuff they want plus the real goods made available for the actual prices cos to be honest when you walk into a shop in nigeria you almost feel like these goods are beyond your purchasing power.

I personally won't buy fake designer goods. There's no point. I've always said it's better to wear original top shop than fake etro.
