Neon and Stripes
Hi dolls... I wore this outfit about a week ago but just got round to posting it up on the blog. I was invited to three events and had to figure out a way to wear an outfit that would be suitable for all three.
The first was a minion themed baby shower for my friend who is expecting a baby boy. The second was the Styd launch event in Raddison Blu and the third was a Hawaii themed event...

December Diaries
Hi dolls... I've had a busy week tagging, delivering orders and adapting to new time zones.
I can't believe how fast my puppies have grown. They are already chewing on things, getting into corners and driving me mad but I love every minute.
A lot of exciting events are happening this month to end the year with a bang. Will do different posts of each event soon.

Istanbul diaries part 2!!!
Hi dolls,
I've been a bit busy but had to share the rest of my Istanbul trip with you all.
I spent four days in Turkey working but the whole experience was awesome. I had a few shows to attend that I had been invited to plus meetings with suppliers so it was a busy trip.
Back to my men + dogs story... I thought the men were funny with the whole 'you are so pretty' speech (even though english isn't their first language) but some of the women were just as bad.
At least the guys could only talk but the women touched. I like your hair (touch), I like your top (touch), Pretty (touch)... I found it hilarious!!!
One thing I love about Turks is how caring they can be. I got fed quite a few times and can now say a few Turkish words *proud face*

Men + Dogs
Hi dolls... So if we are all dogs, Turkish men can make a bull dog feel like a Lhasa.
If you need a boost after a break up or just a boost, Istanbul is the 'GO TO' place.
As soon as I landed, the first taxi guy started the whole 'you are so pretty' speech and I'm like (in my head of course) I don't have any make up, I just got here and I'm too tired for this!!!
I was about to walk into my hotel and some random dude started whistling (at this point all I'm thinking of is a warm bath and cosy bed). Lady what is your name? Where are you from?? *ignore*
This story will continue tomorrow..... Trust me it will lol
Just wanted to say hi!!!!

Sweet November
Hi dolls... I'm super excited to share some good news with everyone... I'm a GLAMMA!!!! Yes you read right, my Kenya had puppies yesterday.
So I got a call right in the middle of a shoot (new project) that Kenya was having her babies. I rushed home to find out that we lost three because no one knew she was in labour.

Another Rainy Day
Hi dolls... It was raining so hard this morning but I didn't let that stop me. I brought out the brelly and took pictures in the rain so please excuse any unclear pictures.
I have to share the 'not so secret' bra I have on in this post, will do that on instagram (@jibbywest) later. It has to be the best invention ever since the toaster lol.

Dress-aree
Hi dolls... Just a quick post to share my OOTD. It was one of those days where it rained all morning. I got dressed but wasn't too sure about my shoes (which never happens) but I couldn't be bothered to change.
As soon as I left my house, my car was moving in a funny way... of course it had to be a flat tyre in the rain but thank God there was a vulcanizer a few meters away. The whole cashless policy had me walking in search of a cash point.
Funny thing is I smiled through it all. I figured that every disappointment is a blessing and everything happens for a reason (in this case I had the wrong pair of shoes on!!!).

Tartan and Antlers
Hi dolls... I'm sure in my last life I was a scottish girl because my instant love for this tartan duster cannot be explained.
It's perfect for any weather and seeing as I'm playing dress up this week, it complimented my 'Hogwarts meets Christmas' look.
My mum says I look like Baba Suwe because of my oversized bow (she's the only one that gets her joke) but I think its more like Rudolph goes Hogwarts.

Not so basic!!!
Hi dolls... Today was one of those days I wanted to do a simple outfit and call it a day but as soon as I put this dress on, I became inspired. In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to be an Egyptian princess for the day.
There's nothing I love more than playing dress up. When I was little, my sister and I would raid my mum's closet and style each other, make each other up and add accessories.
One day, my mum got back early (you can imagine what happened next lol)

Harajuku Girl
Hi dolls... If you follow me on instagram (@jibbywest), you would have seen this outfit already.
I've always had a thing for cut out bootie shoes. I couldn't get the jeweled Sergio Rossi in my size and I nearly got the Kurt Geiger ones but then noticed the stones might come out eventually.
I had given up completely then I came across these beauties in Dubai and it was love at first sight. I fell in love over again when the assistant told me she would give me a discount because it was my birthday!!!
Lost but found
Hi dolls... Just found some pictures that never made it to the blog.
I remember the day I wore this outfit, I was going for casual and comfortable.
I love disney movies more than anything so you can imagine how excited I got when I saw this Bambi tee.
The sequins on it makes it dressy even though it is a casual tee. I can also style it tucked into a skirt if I want to go for a dressy day look.

Dogtooth and Leather
Hi dolls... Sharing posts I should have put up a while ago.
I got this top from the Nigerian brand Maju a while ago and for some reason, I forgot to take it with me on holiday (will put up pics from my Dubai trip soon).
The second I got back, I couldn't wait another second, I just had to wear it. Luckily I had somewhere to go lol. If I didn't, I would have worn it at home knowing me *hand over eyes*!!!

Skin Care: Everyday Products
Hello dolls... As some of you know, I travel a lot so I have to keep my skin hydrated. I hardly do posts on skin care because what works for me might not work for you but I had to share some of the amazing products I've found so far.
Shea butter has to be on every beauty addicts dressing table. It works wonders on my skin and wait for it.... my hair. Yup, I use it on my hair too!!! I've been natural for a while now, my biggest challenge is keeping my hair from drying out. I use this with other oils (shared my hair care products a while back).

FAU: Sunday's Best
Hi dolls... Happy Sunday. Just wanted to share my OOTD with you all. Hope you had a blessed Sunday.
I wore this dress a while back when I was in LA. I styled it completely different with a leather jacket to give it an edge.
Will put up pics on Instagram so you can decide on the day I wore it better :)

Stripes on stripes
Hi dolls... Kenya got a hair cut a while ago so she has been picture shy but she's back to her photobombing ways now that her hair is making a comeback.
I got this blazer on sale a while back... not really a stripe fan but I love a good bargain. I wanted to clash prints so I wore my polka dot body (didn't plan the whole black and white look).

Nigerian green
Hello everyone... I wore this dress for my son's first birthday party last Saturday.
I remember the day I saw this dress, it reminded me of the dress Lupita Nyong'o wore for the Oscars earlier this year. Her dress was by Prada and she said the shade of blue reminded her of Nairobi blue.
I opted out of the plunging neckline and side boobs seeing as it was a child's party and I'm not as daring as I thought lol.

Lady...like
Hi dolls... Another late post :)
I've had this jumper for almost seven years now (yes SEVEN) and I have never worn it. Was cleaning out my closet, found it and decided to pair it with this dress I got recently.
I'm a sucker for daisies so I fell in love with the print of the dress before the fabric or style. I love the soft pastel inner lining paired with the organza daisy fabric.
Tough as nails
Hi dolls... I'm still recovering from the weekend. I can officially conclude that I am an agbaya lol. My son's mexican fiasco 'first' birthday party was amazing thank God. Will upload pics from the party soon. I wasn't allowed on the bouncy castle but I have my ways.
Wore this outfit a few nights ago but never got round to posting the pics. This just shows how versatile my style is.

Luckiest girl in the world
Hi dolls... I was super excited when I won two pieces from two of my fave Nigerian designers on instagram a few weeks ago. Today, I finally collected the first piece and it is the most gorgy dress ever (I can't wait to wear it).
If you follow me on Instagram, my last post is a collage of my day with the amazing designer Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. The picture is just a tiny window to one of the most exciting days I've had this year but doesn't really share my experience or excitement.
I didn't really know what to expect when I woke up today but I was excited for my meeting with the LDA team so I dressed up, went to work and had to sneak out for my meeting. I'm terrible with directions but I have patient siblings and after a million phone calls, I finally found the flagship store.

Maju Addict
Hi dolls.... Wore this outfit to church on Sunday. It almost looks like the shoes came with the shirt dress. I remember when I got an email informing me of a shopping event in Lagos while I was in London. As if that wasn't bad enough, I saw that Maju (one of my fave Naij brands) would be a vendor.
I contacted Maju immediately and she was nice enough to send me pictures from her new collection. This was the first outfit I picked, the print and colour had me at first sight. I ordered a few outfits and they arrived before I got back from my trip!!!

Hearts and Horses
Hi dolls... It's funny how a statement piece can define a look. Decided to pair my skater skirt with this luxe sporty top but the cherry on top had to be my bag.
I fell in love with this bag in LA and couldn't wait to take it on a day or night out. The irony is that I'm not really a fan of milk because I'm lactose intolerant but ah well, we can't help what we love lol.
Frills and Prints
Hi dolls... I'm backkkkkkk :)) Sorry for the lack of posts but I've been super busy (will put up pics from my LA trip soon). It's always so good to be back home and with everything that happened while I was away, I'm just thankful.
My son turns one in a few days and words can't express the joy he has brought this past year. I'm happy to report that he officially took his first steps yesterday (someone wants cake lol) and hasn't stopped practicing.
If you follow me on instagram you would see the piñata I carried by hand all the way from LA. I didn't want to check it in so it would not get damaged. I can't wait for the party, bouncy castle et al.. yes I'm an agbaya.

Istanbul Diaries
Hi dolls... I've been a bit busy but I'm back in London now so decided to share my Istanbul diaries. I did not have time to take proper pictures but I managed to get one or two from my cab lol. I even got on the metro and had to take a picture!!!
If you have low esteem, Istanbul will definitely give you a boost of confidence. The men are just hilarious, you can be walking on the streets and get compliments from random guys. Most of them can't speak English so it makes it funnier when they compliment you.
As soon as I arrived, my cabbie actually stopped to get gas and he came back with a cornetto ice-cream. The Nigerian girl in me was like hope this one isn't trying to jazz me before I wake up in one alley but the other side of me just said 'go with it'...

Candy Land
Hello dolls... Don't forget the giveaway ends today so click on the link to leave your name and email. I currently discovered candy land or should I say Kandee and I'm officially a Kandee girl. I ordered some shoes from their site and let me just say they have the best customer service online. I'm talking about emails being replied as late as 11pm to conclude on items not in stock, refunds and exchanges. I was truly impressed!!!

Burgundy treats
Hi dolls... I was super excited to learn that Maju Live (a Nigerian Label) had a concession in Ikeja (Grey Velvet to be precise). Normally, I have to take a long drive to the island to purchase items from the brand but sometimes I get there too late and meet a closed sign.
Maju Live is one of my fave Nigerian brands. It's 'no rules' approach and unrivaled attention to trend and youth culture has made them a firm favorite with the trendy set. The brand is not only stylish but also very affordable.

Tuxedo playsuit
Hi dolls.. Quick post to share what I wore the other day. I'm in love with playsuits, they are the most comfortable outfit you can wear during summer and you can't go wrong in it.
I realized I don't share a lot on my blog but I just have to share this story. So my mum and her jogging partner were at it earlier this week when they saw another plus sized woman on a walk. They stopped to chat and the conversation they had is beyond me!!!
Nude and Prints
Hi dolls... If you know me well you would know that I'm a big fan of Nigerian designers. I'm all for the team 'buy Nigerian' but some of the Nigerian brands are overpriced and of low quality. Most of them claim to be luxury brands but the fabrics are cheap and the finishing tacky.
Well this was my view until my affair with Rukky Simone. I love the prints, fabrics, finishing of all the pieces and the prices are affordable (most items are under N10000). The only thing I noticed, which really isn't a problem, is the sizes run big. I normally wear a small but I had to get extra small with this brand.

Angels wear Prada too
Hi dolls... I know I look angry in most of these pics but I promise it's just the light from the sun and I couldn't be bothered to go back in to get shades hence the funny expressions.
I've had this top for ages but couldn't wear it due to bra issues. I hate when I wear a transparent top that is also backless and my ba will show at the back (even if it's a really cute bra), I feel it looks tacky.
I finally found the most amazing bra, not the backless and strapless, but something even better. I will share it soon (not on me lol) and also where it can be purchased.

Merry 'Un' Birthday to me
Hi dolls... It rained all day yesterday but for some reason I was in a very good mood. The whole white phase ended the minute I got a hug from my friend and her face print on my top lol, see why it's hard to wear white in Lagos? Don't even get me started on stains I got from carrying stuff (dust everywhere).
Back to my post, If I had a tiara, I would have worn it instead (that was the type of mood I was in) but I settled for my mouse ears and a sparkly jacket. A few people even thought it was my birthday!!! I've always had the urge to try culottes but never got on the band wagon but as they say, there's always a first time.

My new uniform
Hi dolls... White is my new black. I try to avoid white as much as possible in Lagos because it's really hard to maintain the look.
First of all, I have Kenya (my dog) who loves being carried. Arthur (my other dog) who jumps on me before I leave the house.
Then we have dust everywhere and don't even get me started on people with make up who want to hug you. It really is a task maintaining white but it always looks so pretty on.

Happy Child
Happy Sunday dolls... Today has been eventful. It was my sister in law's sister's son's first birthday and I haven't pigged out this much in a long time. I wonder why I wore a cropped top today of all days. There was so much food and because I was spoilt for choice I had it all literally *hand over eyes*!!
I had jollof rice, BBQ turkey, chicken gravy, *continental rice* (inside joke) which is basically rice and ugwu leaves (don't ask), king prawn sauce, sausages, puff puff and to top it off, chocolate cake and haagen daz ice cream. I definitely added instant pounds after that, even a crane couldn't lift me up lol.
I realized today that my inner child is an agbaya. I had to have a party cap and even did the whole 'aunty give me cake' whine lol.

Lingerie style
Hi dolls... My friend celebrated her engagement with an introduction on Saturday plus I had a few events to attend so I decided to wear this lingerie style dress.
I felt a bit exposed going to her house (parents, relatives et al.) in the dress with super thin straps, so I threw on my VL jacket and the look worked.
The neckpiece seemed a bit 'overdressed' with the jacket but I decided to leave it on.
